Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has launched a new citizen-engagement platform, tagged “Ask AA,” giving Nigerians an opportunity to question his political record, scrutinise his policy proposals and demand answers about his plans for the country ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate unveiled the initiative on Thursday, October 15, 2026, describing it as a direct channel for communication between political leaders and the people they hope to govern.
According to the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, the platform will allow citizens to submit questions on pressing national issues, including the economy, insecurity, technology, job creation and the rising cost of living. Atiku is expected to answer questions personally, with support from his media team.
The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between politicians and voters by allowing Nigerians to seek clarification on the former vice-president’s record in public service and his proposals for tackling the country’s challenges.
Atiku said leadership should involve a two-way conversation, insisting that Nigerians deserve the opportunity to question their leaders rather than simply listen to campaign promises.
He also invited citizens to share policy suggestions, challenge his ideas and offer recommendations for national development. Selected participants who provide their contact details may receive personal calls from him, giving him an opportunity to hear directly about their experiences and concerns.
In a move to reach Nigerians beyond internet users, the campaign council also disclosed plans to introduce a radio interface for communities with limited or no internet access.
The launch of Ask AA adds a technology-driven dimension to Atiku’s campaign efforts as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election. However, the platform’s impact will ultimately depend on the quality of the answers provided and whether Nigerians receive clear, specific and verifiable explanations.
With economic hardship, insecurity and unemployment remaining major concerns for many citizens, the platform offers voters an opportunity to put their questions directly to the ADC candidate.
The big question now is: What would you ask Atiku Abubakar about his record, policies or plans for Nigeria if you had the chance?
