Fireboy and Blaqbonez Release New Albums

Nigerian music fans have plenty to add to their weekend playlists as Fireboy DML and Blaqbonez lead this week’s New Music Friday with two highly anticipated album releases.

Fireboy DML has released “ZUKO!”, a 13-track project featuring collaborations with Lojay, Judah Earl, Jamaican dancehall star Masicka, and South African-linked acts JAZZWRLD and Thukuthela. The album arrives two years after “Adedamola” and gives fans a fresh collection of songs blending Afrobeats with other contemporary sounds.

Blaqbonez, meanwhile, has released “NOMADINHO: 4TH PRIME,” his fifth studio album. The 15-track project features Asake, Ruger, Victony, TML Vibez, Igwe Aka and Monochrome, bringing together Nigerian hip-hop and Afrobeats influences.

The releases have made Friday particularly exciting for listeners looking for new music from two artistes with very different styles. Fireboy is known for his melodic delivery and emotionally driven records, while Blaqbonez has built his reputation on witty lyrics, confident rap performances and an unpredictable creative approach.

Both albums also arrive at a time when Nigerian artistes are increasingly reaching audiences beyond the country, making each major release an opportunity to strengthen Afrobeats and Nigerian hip-hop’s global presence.

Of course, the real verdict will come from listeners. Fans will be judging the standout tracks, replay value, collaborations and which project delivers the strongest overall experience.

With new songs from other Nigerian artistes also arriving this week, music lovers have plenty of options for the weekend.
