Tributes have continued to pour in following the passing of elder statesman and leader of the pan-Yoruba socio-political organization Afenifere, Pa Reuben Fasoranti, with former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi describing his death as a monumental loss to the Yoruba nation and Nigeria at large.
In a poignant condolence message issued from his media office, Dr. Fayemi expressed deep sorrow over the departure of the nonagenarian nationalist, describing him as a rare beacon of principled leadership, moral clarity, and unwavering integrity who dedicated his entire life to justice, democracy, and good governance.
Fayemi noted that throughout his decade-long stewardship at the helm of Afenifere, Pa Fasoranti stood firm as a unifier and courageously championed democratic ideals, fiscal federalism, and equity across Nigeria, never compromising his core values even during periods of intense national turmoil.
The former governor emphasized that the late leader’s immense contributions to education, progressive politics, and community development across the South-West region will remain etched in gold for generations to come.
Extending his prayers to the Fasoranti family, the government of Ondo State, and the entire Afenifere family, Fayemi urged political leaders across the nation to honor the late icon’s memory by upholding truth, selfless service, and commitment to the public good.
