ADC Says Nigerians Need Answers as Insecurity Remains a Political Flashpoint

The African Democratic Congress has intensified its criticism of the ruling All Progressives Congress over insecurity, making public safety another major point of political disagreement ahead of the 2027 general election.

The criticism comes as opposition parties seek to challenge the government’s record and convince voters that they can offer a different approach to Nigeria’s problems. Security is likely to remain a central campaign issue because it affects communities, businesses, schools and families across the country.

For the ADC, questioning the APC’s performance is part of its broader effort to present itself as an alternative. For the ruling party, the challenge is to demonstrate what its security measures have achieved and explain how it intends to address continuing threats.

Political accusations alone do not resolve the insecurity crisis. Nigerians need measurable improvements, credible information and practical action from the institutions responsible for protecting lives and property.

As campaign discussions intensify, voters will have to assess the claims made by both the government and the opposition, paying attention to evidence, policies and results rather than rhetoric alone.

With 2027 drawing closer, security is set to remain one of the issues on which political parties will be judged.
