Ballon d’Or 2026: Football’s Biggest Stars Gather in London Tonight

Football fans around the world are turning their attention to London as the 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony takes place on Monday, October 26, bringing together some of the biggest names in the global game.

The ceremony will be held at the London Palladium Theatre, marking the first time the prestigious awards event has taken place in London. This year’s edition is also special because the Ballon d’Or is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

The men’s shortlist features several household names, including Lionel Messi, Ousmane Dembélé, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Erling Haaland and Harry Kane. Their performances over the evaluation period have helped make this year’s race one of the most closely watched events in football.

African football also has reason to follow the ceremony closely. Senegalese forward Sadio Mané is among the nominees for the men’s award, while Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi is also on the shortlist. Zambia’s Barbra Banda, Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga and Senegalese goalkeeper Édouard Mendy feature in other award categories.

Beyond the main prizes, the ceremony will recognise outstanding players, goalkeepers, coaches, clubs and young talents in both men’s and women’s football.

With supporters eager to see who takes home the trophies, the event promises to generate plenty of debate across social media. Until the official announcements are made, however, the winners remain undecided.
