In an unexpected and genre-blending crossover, Nigerian Afrobeats icon Davido has teamed up with legendary American gospel musician Kirk Franklin for a brand-new track titled “Hope In You”!
The upcoming single is set to feature on Kirk Franklin’s forthcoming 14-track project, I Am What I Am, dropping this Friday. Combining uplifting gospel messages with infectious, danceable global rhythms, the collaboration marks Davido’s very first feature alongside a major gospel artist.
Fans first caught wind of the joint project after a preview listening event in Atlanta, where Davido reportedly joined the choir on stage to perform his verse, setting off waves of curiosity across social media. While many fans and music lovers have lauded both hitmakers for bridging spiritual messages with global pop culture, the announcement has also sparked spirited debates online regarding cross-genre partnerships.
Despite the internet banter, anticipation remains sky-high as both Afrobeats lovers and gospel enthusiasts count down to hearing how two music heavyweights blend their distinct styles.
