Agbara Nla Crosses ₦450m at Box Office, Makes History for Nollywood

Nollywood’s box office is getting another major talking point as faith-based movie Agbara Nla: The Return reportedly crosses ₦450 million in cinema earnings.

The film has grossed more than ₦450.3 million and has become the second-highest-grossing Nollywood title of 2026, according to its distributor, Nile Entertainment.

Its performance is particularly impressive as the movie has maintained a strong run in cinemas over several weekends.

The success also highlights the growing commercial potential of faith-based stories in Nigeria’s film industry. Audiences are increasingly showing interest in locally produced films that combine entertainment with themes of faith, family and personal transformation.

For Nollywood, the achievement is another encouraging sign that Nigerian productions can attract substantial cinema audiences when the story, promotion and audience connection come together.

With its impressive earnings, Agbara Nla: The Return has secured a place among the year’s major box office performers.

The big question now is whether it can continue its run and challenge the year’s top-grossing Nigerian film.
