Afrobeats superstar Davido has found himself back in the middle of conversations surrounding the late singer Mohbad after his personal logistics manager, Israel DMW, issued a statement denying claims that the musician was involved in efforts to have social media activist VeryDarkMan arrested.
The clarification came amid renewed tension between Davido and VeryDarkMan over alleged WhatsApp conversations involving members of the singer’s circle.
Israel DMW maintained that Davido had no knowledge of, or involvement in, any alleged plan to arrest the activist over his campaign for justice for Mohbad. He also said that anyone from Davido’s crew who participated in the WhatsApp group did so without the singer’s instruction or approval.
The aide further dismissed claims that Davido attempted to acquire Mohbad’s music catalogue or sign Marlian Music artiste Zinoleesky.
He explained that Davido had previously resisted pressure to unfollow Naira Marley, insisting that the police should be allowed to investigate Mohbad’s death rather than relying on rumours.
The statement has reopened an emotional conversation among music fans, especially those who have continued to demand answers about Mohbad’s death in September 2023.
For now, the claims and counterclaims remain part of a public dispute. Davido’s aide has made his position clear, while the wider controversy continues to attract attention online.
