Manchester City beat bottom club Sheffield United 1-0 to set a club-record of 12 successive victories and retain their position at the top of the log.
In England’s top flight to register 12 consecutive wins in all competitions, the last team was Arsenal, who did so between August and October 2007.
The victory also marked Pep Guardiola’s staggering 500th win of a managerial career of 673 games.
The lone goal by Gabriel Jesus came just nine minutes into the game, off the back of Ferran Torres cross.
Guardiola’s side has now kept five clean sheets in a row in the Premier League, and an impressive 11 out of 13 and gone 19 games unbeaten in all competitions.
Sheffield was far from the team who had shockingly defeated Manchester United three days ago, and the result leaves them at the heel of the table, 10 points off fourth-bottom Brighton.
