They say you are as good as your last game, and that indeed was the case of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. The latter followed up their midweek Europa League win over Benfica with an impressive comeback victory against Leicester City.
Things started smoothly for the hosts, who capitalized on Arsenal’s questionable defending to take the lead just six minutes into the game courtesy of an unchecked Youri Tieleman.
The Gunners tried to get back into the game in the 14th minute but saw a penalty overturned before David Luiz headed in the leveller from a free-kick in the 39th minute.
Barely two minutes after the equalizer, the visitors got another penalty which stood, and Alexandre Lacazette made no mistakes in handing them a lead just at the brink of half time.
After the break, Pepe capitalized on Leicester’s defensive blunder to make it three and all but seal the much-deserved win for Mikel Arteta’s side while compounding the miseries of their hosts, who got knocked out of the Europa League three days earlier.
The Foxes’ sixth home loss of the season leaves them 10 points behind leaders Manchester City, while the vital points moved Arsenal up to ninth, eight points off the top four.
Leicester will travel to Burnley on Wednesday, looking to bounce back from this defeat.
Arsenal will also pay a visit to Burnley for the next Premier League game next Saturday.
