Premier League runaway leaders, Manchester City, who are in an excellent run in form, took their winning streak to 21 consecutive wins in all competitions with a 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday.
A Leander Dendoncker 15th minute own goal gave the Citizens the lead in a first half they very well dominated.
After the break, Wolves surprisingly levelled things up in 61st minute courtesy of a Conor Coady header, a goal born out of Joao Moutinho’s free-kick in what was the visitors’ first touch of the ball inside the City box.
The equalizer gave Wolves a glimmer of hope but little did they know that none of it would last long because Pep Guardiola’s men, all but enraged by the goal, went on to score three times in the final 10 minutes courtesy of goals Gabriel Jesus and Riyad Mahrez.
The unprecedented show of steel extended City’s lead at the Premier League’s top to 15 points.
Second-placed Manchester United will face Pep Guardiola’s side on Sunday as the world waits to see which team will stop the seemingly unstoppable Manchester City.
