“A Voice for All”: Zulum Celebrates Radio Nigeria’s 75 Years of Excellence

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has extended his warm congratulations to the management and staff of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), popularly known as Radio Nigeria, as the corporation celebrates its 75th anniversary.

In his message, Governor Zulum lauded Radio Nigeria for its decades of consistent service as a “pillar of national unity” and a “voice of the people.” He highlighted the corporation’s pivotal role in informing and educating Nigerians, particularly through its extensive network of FM and zonal stations that reach even the most remote parts of the country.

The Governor specifically commended the station for its professionalism and objective reportage, noting that Radio Nigeria has remained a reliable source of information since the colonial era. He emphasized that the corporation’s slogan, “Uplifting the People and Uniting the Nation,” accurately reflects its contribution to Nigeria’s democratic and social development over the last seven and a half decades.

Governor Zulum also acknowledged the long-standing partnership between the Borno State Government and the media, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting press freedom and providing an enabling environment for journalists to thrive.
