Adekunle Gold Postpones “Fuji Xtra” Deluxe to May 8

Adekunle Gold fans will have to wait just a little longer to experience the full project. While the deluxe album “Fuji Xtra” was originally slated to drop this Friday, May 1, AG Baby has officially postponed the release to Friday, May 8, 2026.

The delay was reportedly due to a technical glitch involving tracklist metadata on the distribution side. Rather than rushing a flawed launch, Adekunle Gold opted for a “clean” release to ensure all credits and features are perfectly aligned.

The “Fuji Xtra” Tracklist Details

The deluxe edition is a concise 5-track extension of his 2025 Fuji album, designed to deepen his exploration of the Yoruba percussive sound:

  • “Formation” (feat. Olamide): The lead single, which dropped earlier in April, set the tone with its high-energy blend of street-hop and traditional Fuji.
  • “Shake Shake” (feat. TML Vibez): A track expected to lean into the viral “Asakasa” style.
  • “Blue Fire” (feat. Simi): A highly anticipated collaboration with his wife, promising the emotional depth fans love.
  • “Life of the Faaji” & “I Got Wiser on My Own”: Two solo tracks that round out the storytelling of the Fuji era.

The Pasuma Connection

The trending snippet featuring Pasuma has been a major highlight of the rollout. While Pasuma is not listed on the official 5-track deluxe tracklist as a primary feature, the “raw Fuji” track has been described as a cultural homage.

  • Cultural Bridge: This collaboration is seen as AG Baby’s “seal of approval” from the Fuji veteran, bridging the gap between the 90s Alapomeji era and modern Afropop.
  • The “Fuji” Evolution: By bringing Pasuma into his “sonic universe,” Adekunle Gold is solidifying his transition from “Highlife Prince” to a vanguard of the Afrobeats-Fuji sub-genre.
