Ademola Lookman’s first-half strike was the difference and just enough to see Nigeria pick up the first semi-finals ticket.
Nigeria thought they had gone 2-0 up when Victor Osimhen headed home a second in the 74th minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside, as the Eagles held on to lead to avoid any turn of events.
The Super Eagles have won FOUR competitive games on the bounce for the first time since February 2013.

Clearly the better side, the Eagles deserved the win and will be up against the winner of Saturday’s quarter-final game between Cape Verde and South Africa, in the semi finals next week Wednesday.
