Amad Diallo scored a brilliant, late quick fire hat-trick to save Manchester United from a shameful defeat to Southampton at Old Trafford.
It was the Red Devils’ first home game of the year and haven failed to convert their chances at goal, it seemed Ruben Amorim’s side was about to be condemned to a fourth successive defeat at home for the first time sinve 1930, no thanks to Manuel Ugarte’s first half own goal.
In the 82nd minute, Amad restored hope with an equalizer, but the Ivorian wasn’t done as he scored two more goals in the 90th and 94th minutes to stun the visitors and own the night.
Manchester United would be most grateful to the youngster as the result saw them move to 12th on the log, as they continue to endure a disappointing and underwhelming season.
