Popular social commentator GehGeh has sparked intense reactions online following his controversial statement in defence of Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Fela and modern-day artistes, GehGeh declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should make it a law to punish anyone who disrespects or speaks negatively about the late music icon.
According to him, Fela is not just a musician but a national and continental treasure whose contributions to music, culture, and political activism remain unmatched.
GehGeh argued that Fela sacrificed his life, comfort, and safety to speak truth to power, and therefore deserves the highest level of respect.
“Tinubu should make it a law. Anybody wey talk down on Fela again should be jailed for life,” GehGeh said, a statement that quickly went viral across social media platforms.
