APC Tells INEC Not to Alter 2027 Election Dates

The All Progressives Congress has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission to remain firm on its timetable for the 2027 general elections, warning against any changes that could favour a political party.

The APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, reportedly made the position known while receiving an ECOWAS pre-election fact-finding mission at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Yilwatda stressed the importance of INEC maintaining its deadlines and carrying out its responsibilities without giving any political organisation an advantage.

He also pointed to the APC’s preparations, including the inauguration of its campaign council and the submission of candidates’ names.

The party’s position comes as opposition groups continue to raise concerns about electoral transparency and the management of the 2027 election process.

With political activities already gathering pace, the timetable has become an important issue for parties working to organise their campaigns.

Ultimately, Nigerians will expect INEC to remain impartial, communicate clearly and ensure that every political party operates under the same rules.
