A ninth minute Erling Haaland goal had put City in front and though Arteta’s men kept the pressure on, they failed to find a way through before the break.
After the break, with City packed up in the defence, it looked like Pep’s side would run away with all three points from the Emirate, but Gabriel Martinelli came off the bench and smashed on a befitting equalizer.

The result means Arteta is now the only manager to have gone five successive against Pep Guardiola without a defeat. It also leaves the Gunners second on the EPL table behind Liverpool, who secured a win in Saturday’s Merseyside derby against Everton.
