2023:  Group Backs Emefiele for President 

A group, Unified Northern Nigeria Youth Forum (UNNYF), has said for the country to experience fairness and justice, an Igbo presidency should be elected in the coming general elections.

The Director-General of the group, Ibrahim Bature, made the call at the weekend, during their  road walk in Minna

He urged Nigerians to support the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Godwin Emefiele, as the country’s next president for unity economic and political progress.

The DG noted that Emefiele has proved his worth and called on northerners and Nigerians to rally around him, considering his policies that have rejuvenated the nation’s economy, especially in the agricultural sector now contributing tremendously to the GDP.

He added that the CBN Governor would replicate his impacted policies in every sector of the nation’s economy for the betterment of the country and to enable Nigeria to join the league of nations.

On his part, the group’s spokesperson, Aliyu Mohammed, described  Emefiele as a Southerner with a Northern heart, the Champion of Northern Renaissance hence the need to declare the one hundred per cent support for the green icon who is a liberator of the northern people.

Meanwhile, the State Coordinator, Mohammed Mohammed, also lauded the  CBN governor for imaging positively on women, youths and vulnerable Nigerians.

Earlier, stating their reason for backing the CBN Governor to contest were  his “introduction of the Ancho-Borrowers Scheme, which had helped massively reduce poverty that was seen to be endemic in our region through the provision of farm inputs and one digit interest rate facility.”

“His policies formulated  have enhanced the establishment of many industries in our region worthy of mention such  as

, Dangote Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Olams Industry, Vicampro, Tomato Jos, Gujeni Integrated, Iron Ore Mining and Processing Plants, Tiamin Rice Mill, MAFA Rice just to mention but a few. This also has created employment and wealth in our region.”
