2023: Obi Charged Youth on Their Future, Set to Destroy Criminal Structures

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, has called on youths to take their destiny into their hands, as the future is about them.

He made the call at an interactive session with Nigerian Youths in Uyo, the former governor of Anambra State revealed this via his Twitter handle.

“I just arrived at the venue of my interactive session with Nigerian Youths in Uyo. I have told the students that Nigeria’s future is about them. You have to take your destiny in your hands”

The presidential candidate who seems to have worn the hearts of much Nigerian youth have taken as part of his campaign to meet with various persons and group, cutting across different age grades for consultation ahead of the poll.

Earlier, Obi said that the witch-hunting of persons in his campaign team cannot break his resolve to be the next president of Nigeria.

He said this while responding to questions from newsmen at the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Akwa, Ibom State Council.

He claimed that despite Mr. Doyin Okupe’s conviction for allegedly engaging in money laundering, he remained unfazed.

According to Obi: “I am hearing about it (the conviction) just like you. I am still studying what is coming out of the courts and everything. I believe in the rule of law. It is not going to demoralize me.

“Today, when I arrived in Akwa Ibom somebody asked me why I haven’t been using my aircraft because it has been grounded and all that and I said to him that nothing demoralizes me.”

When asked about the perception that he lacks the political structure necessary to win the presidency, he replied that he was committed to toppling the system, which has led to widespread poverty among Nigerians.

“The structure they have today is the structure we want to destroy. It is the structure of criminality. It is the structure that produced 133 million people living in poverty, it is the structure that produced 20 million out-of-school children. 

“It is the structure that has made Nigeria surpass India in infant mortality. It is the structure that will destroy Nigeria and we want to destroy that structure,” he said.
