50 Cent causes outrage for insensitive against Michael K. Williams

50 Cent is being slammed for an insensitive post he made about the death of acclaimed actor, Michael K. Williams.

Michael K. Williams, best known for his role in HBO’s The Wire was reported dead on Monday afternoon, September 6, after a suspected drug overdose. He was reportedly discovered unconscious in the dining room of his luxury Brooklyn penthouse with what appeared to be heroin on the kitchen table.

Then 50Cent made a post featuring an excerpt from the New York Post article breaking the news of Williams’ death accompanied by a caption telling people to check out his show Raising Kanan to to see the dangers of Fentanyl overdoses. He then went on to use the hashtags #bransoncognac #lecheminduroi #bottlerover to promote his liquor brand.

“Damn if you didn’t see Raising Kanan check it out that fentanyl is no joke, killing the clientele. RIP Michael k. Williams,” 50 wrote in the Instagram post.

50 Cent later shared another Instagram post that referred to past differences between himself and Williams. In the caption, he wrote, “Don’t ever try to understand me I’m different. I don’t do all the fake love shit.”

He also took to Twitter to post the screenshot of the article and joked about Williams’ death, adding: “New Caption alert. Hey jimmy ya man OD’ed” alongside a laughing emoji.

Netizens couldn’t overlook his insensitivity so they came at him, showing different reactions.  50 Cent later deleted both notes from Instagram, but is still being dragged on Twitter.

One user wrote, “I’m starting to understand why 50 cent was shot 9 times.”

“50 Cent is honestly disgusting and disrespectful as hell for this post smh. So lame for this…..Sending my condolences to the family of Michael K. Williams,” another shared.
