Actor Yul Edochie Quits Presidential Ambition Under APGA, Gives Reasons

Popular Nigerian Actor, Yul Edochie has announced that he will no longer be running for president under the platform of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

Giving reasons for quitting his ambitions, Yul stated that after he had had a series of meetings and consultations, he and his party members came to the conclusion that APGA does not have the capacity to win a presidential election at the moment.

Yul’s Tweet reads:

“I wanted to run for President with APGA.  After much consultations & meetings, we sat and did our evaluations. We put sentiments aside & embraced facts. Our party is good but does not have the capacity at the moment to win a Presidential seat. So, I didn’t move further.”

Yul, who ran for governor in Anambra State under the Democratic People’s Congress has been all about his Presidential ambition come 2023.

In February 2021, his father and Nollywood Veteran, Pete Edochie endorsed Yul’s presidential ambition following pleas from his fans and young people “who believe in his son”.

Come 2022, on the actor’s 40th birthday, all he prayed for was for God to grant his presidential desires.

“Dear God, please make me the President of Nigeria in 2023 so I can wipe away the tears of my people.
Thank you Lord for answering my prayer”, Yul prayed.

Sadly, his wishes ended up being short-lived. Despite the challenges, we wish him the best in his future endeavors.
