Popular Nigerian actress, director, and movie producer, Chioma Chukwuka Akpotha has cried out after being attacked by political thugs at her polling unit in Lagos state.
Chioma, who was on Instagram live narrated how she was manhandled, and her vehicle bashed, hence preventing her from exercising her franchise.
She said she couldn’t cover the incident for fear of her life as they were bent on attacking just her, seeing her active participation in the presidential election.
Her live feed also covered where she encountered military men and narrated the incident to them. They assured her that the situation was under control and she could go back to voting, but she refused out of fear for her life.
This is coming after Musiliu Akinsanya, chairman of the Lagos parks and garages, popularly known as MC Oluomo threatened that Igbo people who do not want to vote for the party in the Lagos governorship election should stay at home.
Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, made the comments while addressing his supporters at an event in Lagos.
“We have begged them. If they don’t want to vote for us, it is not a fight. Tell them, Mama Chukwudi, if you don’t want to vote for us, sit down at home. Sit down at home,” MC Oluomo spoke in Yoruba in the viral video.
