Actress Monalisa Chinda conferred with Chieftaincy title

Nollywood actress, Monalisa Chinda-Coker has been conferred with a Chieftaincy title for being a staunch promoter of her culture and tradition.

Monalisa was conferred with the prestigious title ‘Ugoeze’ during the celebration of Nollywood New Yam Festival.

The event, which is an annual fiesta, celebrates Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. It was put together by Nollywood practitioners to always remind them of their roots.

Monalisa shared the goodnews on her Instagram page, disclosing that she received the title in recognition of her impact on her culture and tradition.

She admitted that the event was the most colorful event she ever attended. Sharing bits from the event, Monalisa wrote;

“About last weekend. Celebrating our culture and traditions the Nollywood way. One if the most colorful events I have ever attended. Well done”.

The Nollywood New Yam Festival’s tenth edition held at the Exhibition Pavilion, beside ICC, opposite Radio House, CBD, Abuja had AGN president Emeka Rollas, Tricia Eseigbe Kerry, Francis Duru, Andy Chukwu and others in attendance.
