Another Season, Another Scudetto For Juventus
Italian giants, Juventus clinched the Italian Serie A title for the ninth successive season, continuing their dominance in Italy after goals from Talisman, Cristinao Ronaldo and Federico Bernardeschi in both halves of the game earned the serial champions a 2-0 win at home to Sampdoria.
Ronaldo broke the deadlock at the nick of the half-time with a brilliant free-kick to ease the tension which was mounting around a Juve who had struggled to find their footing for most part of the first half against a rather stubborn opponents.
The showdown could easily have gone either way for both teams as a currently in form Sampdoria kept pushing the defending champions to the edge even after being reduced to 10men after midfielder Morten Thorsby got sent off in the second half following his second yellow card, but the Old Lady who were bent on not missing out on a title celebration after crumbling against Udinese in their last game, held firm and soon enough earned a second goal through winger Bernardeschi, punishing the Samps for failing to take their chances and sealing a record 9th Scudetto.
All might not have gone well for Juventus with attacking powerhouse Paulo Dybala coming off injured 40min into the game and Ronaldo missing a penalty and the chance to take his goal tally to 32, two behind Lazio’s Ciro Immobile who now has 34.Andthey wonโt hit a 90 points mark as they have in the last four seasons, but they are champions of Italy for a record 35th time and they won it with grits and 2 games left to play.
