The All Progressives Congress said it had not postponed its proposed nationwide membership registration/revalidation exercise to commence on Monday.
It noted that the news which surfaced that the exercise was postponed is false.
The said report quoted the Party’s Secretary of the Caretaker/National Convention Planning Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, who announced the exercise’s postponement. It noted thus: “We sincerely apologize for the delay of the proposed All Progressives Congress party registration which was scheduled to take place on Monday, January 25, 2021, now put on hold till further notice.
“We, therefore, implore all members and stakeholders, well-wishers and lovers willing to join our great Party to put on hold till directive comes from above. Thanks for your cooperation.”
However, John Akpanudoedehe, later on Saturday, said a notice of postponement that is being circulated is ‘fake and highly malicious.’ He noted that the exercise would proceed as planned by the Party.
“The APC membership registration, revalidation, and update exercise remains on course and commences as scheduled in the attached timetable.
Meanwhile, the Party had tweeted it’s official Twitter handle @OfficialAPCNg yesterday that “the All Progressives Congress APC, Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee CECPC has approved the constitution of State Membership Registration Committees for the Party’s nationwide membership registration, revalidation and update exercise.
“In compliance with COVID-19 public health protocols on maintaining social distancing, only Chairmen and Secretaries of the State Membership Committees are invited for the inauguration ceremony.
The Inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday, January 27, 2021, by 2:00 pm at the APC National Secretariat, Abuja.”
The Party has also said the Inauguration of state committees and trainers’ training will hold from January 25 to 27, while January 28 to February 2 as days for distributing registration materials and gadgets to all designated centers nationwide.
