APC-support Group Hosts Carnival

A coalition of APC-supporting organisations hosted a small carnival on Wednesday at the Unity Fountain in Abuja to mark the start of the elections.

The APC supporters sang and waved the party’s flag while others were spotted carrying banners bearing various expressions of solidarity in support of Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate.

The inauguration of the 422 members of the Presidential Campaign Council was delayed on Monday to accommodate additional party interests and stakeholders.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC’s) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) is moving to increase the number of its 422-member roster of influential figures entrusted with helping Bola Tinubu and Kashim Shettima win the party’s nomination for president.

In a statement released late on Monday, PCC Director-General Simon Lalong stated that the list needed to be expanded in order to “accommodate more stakeholders and interests inside the APC family.”

Lalong, who is also the governor of Plateau State, also declared that the council’s inauguration and the prayer walk would not take place as scheduled on Wednesday.

The nation’s political capital, Abuja, had a rally last week for Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party.

Many commentators have characterised the contest for the top post in Aso Rock as a three-horse fight between Tinubu, Obi, and PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar.

The Independent National Electoral Commission campaigns officially kicked off yesterday nationwide, and there are 18 recognised political parties in the race.

As Campaigns have kick started, who, in your opinion, is the best suit to replace President Buhari?
