APC UK Faults Protest Against Buhari’s Medical Trip

The ruling All Progressives Congress APC, United Kingdom UK Chapter, has faulted the protest by some Nigerians in the UK against the medical trip abroad by President Muhammadu Buhari, saying it is not necessary and ill-motivated.
This was contained in a statement by the leader of the chapter, Mr Ade Omole, on Tuesday while reacting to the protest organized by Reno Omokri, a former aide to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, on Monday in London.

Omole recalled that “Omokri had said the protest was to harass Buhari out of London.” Although Omokri has the rights to protest, he was only insensitive by organizing the “one-man protest”.
Omole also noted that the ex-presidential aide failed to x-ray the numerous achievements of the present administration.
He noted that the APC in the UK would continue to support the Buhari-led administration, adding that all well-meaning Nigerians should do the same as the president is making a tremendous impact on the nation.

Omole said, “We, Nigerians in the United Kingdom are here today to say we like what Buhari is doing and we will keep supporting him and his administration.”
He urged Omokri and covert their criticism to action and work alongside the president to build a better Nigeria in the interest of all.
He noted that a cross-section of patriotic Nigerians in Abuja had converged at the Abuja House in the UK to show solidarity and support for the Buhari-led administration, emphasizing that this was the right thing to do.

Omole, however, said the reports in some quarters that some Nigerians in the UK were being paid to attend the support rally was not accurate, stating that “Nigerians in the Diaspora send money home not vice versa. He stressed that “The alleged report is hogwash.”
He further urged Nigerians not to relent in giving their support to the federal government for its social and economic policies, infrastructural development and gains recently being made as regards the country’s security.

“We are not where we should be, but we had left where we were pre-2015 when cluelessness was the order of the day.
“The trajectory under the APC-led administration under the leadership of President Buhari has been upwards and positive,” Omole added.
