Armie Hammer Dropped From ‘Billion Dollar Spy’ over Sexual Assault Allegations

Armie Hammer has been dropped from another film project in development. The actor will no longer be appearing in director Amma Asante’s Cold War drama-thriller ‘The Billion Dollar Spy’, according to multiple reports.

The news comes shortly after Hammer was accused of rape and battery by a 24-year-old woman named Effie. She also claims that Hammer raped her and physically abused her during an incident on April 24, 2017.

In a statement provided by Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, the actor refuted the allegations, as well as provided an alleged screenshot of an exchange between Hammer and Effie.

“Hammer has maintained that all of his interactions with Effie and every other sexual partner of his for that matter have been completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory,”

Since the start of the controversy, Hammer was dropped by his agency, WME. A week after, Hammer left his starring role in the Paramount series ‘The Offer’, about the making of The Godfather. He also dropped out of Jennifer Lopez’s rom-com,’ Shotgun Wedding.
