Arsenal secure narrow win against United, taking title race to the wire

Arsenal held on to a scrappy 1-0 win over rivals, Manchester United to go to the summit of the EPL table, as they maintained their stay in the exciting title race, which has stretched to the last day.

Leandro Trossard’s first-half goal was all it took for Arsenal to get all three points despite putting up a less domineering performance against Ten Hag’s men who could have been said to be the better side but lacked indecisive.

The result saw Arsenal do the double over Man United for the first time since the 06/07 season, the fourth overall.

It was also Arsenal’s 27th win of the season, a record feat that surpassed the 26 wins achieved in their title-winning invincible season in 03/04.

The Red Devils on the other are eighth on the log with faded hopes of playing in Europe next season, summing up the disaster of a season Ten Hag’s side have had.

The Gunners will look to their North London rivals with the hope that they can cause an upset when they take on Man City on Tuesday, to tilt things in the favour of Mikel Arterta’s boys who are currently a point ahead of City having played one game more.

For the last game of the season, Arsenal will play host to Everton, while City will entertain West Ham.
