Arsenal vs Fulham: Arsenal Off To Winning Start

48 days after last season’s delayed conclusion, the Premier League has returned and Arsenal hit the ground running with the kind of confident display that has become their hallmark since Mikel Arteta took charge.

Arsenal made a flying start to the 2020/2021 Premier League season securing three unreplied goals against newly promoted Fulham who had a hard time slowing down Arsenal’s quick attack for most part of the game.
Alexandre Lacazette gave the visitors an early lead at Craven Cottage 8 minutes into the game.

Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes got a debut goal after the break when he scored Arsenal’s second  in his first appearance since his close-season move from Lille.

Aubameyang added the final flourish with a typical eye-catching strike in the 57th minute.

The victory means Arsenal has won their opening match in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2009/10 (three in a row)
Former Chelsea winger Willian went home for the man of the match award for his exciting debut performance which included a pair of assists from the Brazilian.

It indeed is the ideal way for Arsenal to start a season that appears full of promise after last season’s FA Cup triumph.

In the other games of the day, Crystal Palace made a winning start to the news Premier League season as a volley by Wilfried Zaha proved enough to sink Southampton.

The Ivory Coast forward, who has repeatedly been linked with a move away from Selhurst Park, was unmarked when he produced a clinical finish from Andros Townsend’s impressive cross.

While Newcastle United edged past West Ham United with 2 goals courtesy of Callum Wilson and Jeff Hendrick
