Atiku Promise to Support Lagos State PDP Win Governorship Poll

Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate, stated on Tuesday that he was astounded by the extent of party members’ mobilisation in Lagos State in preparation for the general elections in 2023.

Atiku spoke at a meeting with party members, leaders, and candidates for different positions in the upcoming elections. Atiku arrived in the state early in the day to attend a number of events.

“Now, in all my political career, we are the people who established PDP. I have never seen Lagos state so mobilised like this.

“This makes me believe that this electoral time, PDP is going to win Lagos. I believe you are going to win Lagos state this time,” the former vice president said.

Atiku, who promised to support the party to win the 2023 elections in the state, urged the party stakeholders to work harder to achieve the feat.

“Therefore, we are ready to support you to any level to ensure you win Lagos state. You know, when I say I am going to do something, bring the sky down, I will make sure I do it.

“Therefore, I want you to work harder. We will cooperate with you, we will support you and protect you from making sure that this time around, you win Lagos state,” he added.

The PDP presidential candidate stated that he was in the state to assess the party’s current condition of affairs while pointing out that the campaign had not yet begun.

He declared: “I have personally visited Lagos State to verify that the PDP is present.

“That makes me believe that this time around ‘, Jandor’ (PDP governorship candidate) will be the next governor of Lagos state. You will see what we will do when the campaigns start.”

He praised the party members for their help, endurance, and tenacity. Olajide Adediran (Jandor), the PDP candidate for governor in Lagos State, said in his remarks that Atiku had given the state’s residents their greatest sense of hope.

According to Mr. Adediran, the party members in the state had a private conversation and resolved to concentrate solely on Atiku as “the Project 2023.”

“We have spoken to ourselves, and we have decided to say, regardless of whatever is happening anywhere, what is paramount to us is to deliver Nigeria and Lagos state for the PDP.

“We appreciate you, we believe in you, we cherish you. We want a president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to come in 2023, which is what we have in you. Our concern is the 2023 election.

“I want to appreciate you personally for believing this time that we are going to deliver Lagos state for the PDP,” he said.

The presidential candidate was accompanied by a former governor of Niger, Babangida Aliyu; Dino Melaye; Raymond Dokpesi; party stalwarts and some other members of the National Assembly from the party.

Present at the event amongst other bigwigs of the party was Philip Aivoji-led Lagos state executive committee.
