Buhari Promises To Leave Nigeria Safer

On Wednesday, President Muhammadu Buhari guaranteed Nigerians that when his term as President ends in May 2023, Nigeria will be a safer place.

During the Emblem Appeal Launch for the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, President Buhari reiterated his prior pledge.

He declared a N10 million donation to the appeal fund.

Buhari then called for all Nigerians to unite in support of the nation’s veterans and the families of the fallen heroes, whose past sacrifices have kept the country united. He also called on corporate organisations to join in.

The President applauded the country’s armed services for making the nation a safer environment for all residents and visitors.

In order for them to continue their work, he said that his administration would continue to assist them and provide the necessary resources.

Many senior government officials and dignitaries from many sectors attended the event, which took place before the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting.

Also present were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo(SAN); President of the Senate, Dr Ahmad Lawan; ministers, military and other security chiefs, among others.

Every year, a day is set aside to honour members of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Police who have lost their lives while performing their duty. This day is known as Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

The event also serves to honour soldiers who are still alive and to help the families of fallen heroes by raising money, morale, and supplies.
