Buhari, Tinubu Approves APC’s campaign spokesperson

Festus Keyamo serving as the APC campaign’s spokesperson, has won the approval of both President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu, the party’s presidential candidate for the general elections in 2023.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, made this information public on Twitter.

“Both President Buhari and the Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, are happy with the job Keyamo doing, and with the general setup of the impending campaign, which has already become an example for other parties,” the presidential spokesman tweeted.

Nigerians are unconcerned about the APC’s Muslim-Muslim ticket, according to Keyamo in an interview on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

In defence of Tinubu’s selection of Kashim Shettima as his running partner, Keyamo, who also serves as the state’s minister for labour and employment, claimed that the general public was interested in how the ruling party intended to address hunger.

As a result of the minister’s remarks, there were rumours that President Buhari disapproved of Keyamo’s speech because it was seen as de-promoting the current administration.

But Shehu rejected the rumours, calling them fake news, that the Federal Government wanted Keyamo to lead the APC’s presidential campaign.

The president’s media adviser noted that the allegations were untrue but said there are no plans to fire Keyamo from his position as the APC campaign’s spokesperson.

He added, “The news that President Muhammadu Buhari has called for the removal of Festus Keyamo, SAN, as a spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign Council is fake news.

“We [are] aware that conspiracy theories are being hatched with a ripple effect to defame our party leaders and hold back the campaign. Supporters of our candidates should not pay attention to “news” from these fountains of false narratives.”
