Buhari Urges Ortom to Highlight Positive Actions of Current Administration

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom to make an effort to mention the capital projects that his administration has completed there.

On Thursday, the president advised Ortom that whenever he used the media to criticise the APC-led government, he should highlight the positive actions of the current administration rather than just casting aspersions.

According to President Buhari, this is what must be done in good faith to show that democracy is functional.

The chairman of the House committee on tertiary education, Mr. Aminu Suleiman Goro, spoke on behalf of the president during the commissioning of four high-impact projects at the Federal University of Agriculture in Makurdi. 

The president promised that his administration would continue to support entrepreneurship education in universities in order to help create wealth creators, which calls for the support of all levels of government.

In a previous speech, Governor Samuel Ortom, who was represented at the commissioning ceremony by his commissioner for education, made a plea to the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) and the Federal Government to change the subject of the ongoing negotiations and swiftly find a solution to their differences so that students could resume their academic activities, which have been suspended for about seven months.

Recall that the governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, has tasked President Muhammadu Buhari and his administration with saving Nigeria from the clutches of terrorists, kidnappers, and bandits who are currently enjoying a field day in the nation. This is a direct challenge to the government and will help repair their damaged reputation. The president’s handlers, according to Ortom, did not want Nigerians to discuss this unpleasant fact.

The governor spoke  in reaction to a statement by Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu.Ortom said in the statement, “Each time I speak about the dreadful manner the Muhammadu Buhari administration has handled the security situation in the country, his media aides and hangers-on come out attacking my personality, instead of addressing the issues I raised, Ortom said.
