Fast-rising singer, Daniel Benson, popularly known as Buju has changed his professional name from Buju to BNXN.
The singer shared a video explaining why he had to make the sudden change.
WN gathered that he shares the same name with American singer, Buju Banton, who already trademarked the name.
“Buju Banton is trademarked, to avoid lawsuits and all, the change was needed”, a source told WN.
BNXN realized the change will be safer at this standpoint in his career than resulting in an issue much later.
“Its no longer “Buju”, Call me “Benson” written as ‘BNXN’ “, he tweeted.
Buju became mainstream after his Lenu remix with former Label mate, Burna Boy. He left Spaceship Records after his contract ended in April 2020 and currently floats his record label known as To Your Years Entertainment in conjunction with Empire on a distribution deal.
