Burna Boy becomes first African artiste to hit No.1 on India music chart

Self-acclaimed African giant, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has made it to the top of the charts again, this time on India’s Top 100 Billboard chart.

Burna’s new song, ‘Mera Na’ featuring the deceased Sidhu Moose Wala, is currently making the waves in India.

A stat publishing page on Twitter revealed the self-acclaimed African Giant’s milestone makes him the second African and Nigerian artiste after Rema to ever appear on the Billboard India Songs chart.

It wrote; “Mera Na” by (@iSidhuMooseWala,@burnaboy & @steelbanglez) debuts at; 1 on Billboard India Songs”

The song also reached the 14th spot on Billboard Canadian Hot 100 and debuted at 102 on Billboard Global 200 in the United States.

As also confirmed by slain singer Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Sardar Balkaur Singh, the track of the late songster is more than just a musical treat.

The track and its video in every sense is a tribute to the star gone too soon but not forgotten. At the end of the song, we hear “Legends Never Die”, we see Sidhu looking down from the heaven, and then a flag with the message ‘Justice For Sidhu Moose Wala’.

Sidhu Moose Wala was one of the most loved Punjabi singers. He made a name for himself in a very short span of time with strong lyrics and songs. Unfortunately, the artist was shot down in Mansa last year in May, and the investigation behind his assassination is still in progress.
