Carabao Cup: Arsenal, Manchester City set for quarter-finals clash

Arsenal will host Carabao title defenders Manchester City in the quarterfinals of the competition after bouncing back from a 3-1 defeat suffered in the hands of Premier League champions, Liverpool 3 days ago at Anfield to see off Klopp’s side 5-4 on penalties following a keenly contested goalless regulation time display between both teams.

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal got the better of Guardiola in the FA Cup semi-finals last season en route to winning the trophy. The Spaniard will be hoping history can repeat itself against his fellow countryman in this competition.

Meanwhile, Manchester United will travel to Everton for their quarterfinals game, while, José Mourinho’s Tottenham face an away trip to Championship side Stoke City, who knocked out last year’s finalists Aston Villa, and Brentford will host Newcastle in the club’s first League Cup quarterfinal match.
