Carabao Cup: Man Utd ease past Leicester City
Manchester United have started life without recently sacked coach, Erik Ten Hag, on a high, as interim manager and former United player, Ruud van Nistelrooy led them to a comfortable 5-2 win against Leicester City in Wednesday’s Carabao Cup game at Old Trafford.
Casemiro kicked things off with a stunning strike and by half time, he’d gotten a brace with captain, Bruno Fernandes and youngster, Alejandro Garnacho also getting on the scoresheet before the break.
Not one to back down easier, Leicester also got two goals in the first half courtesy of Bilal El Khannouss and Conor Coady, leaving things at 4-2 before the break.
After the break, Bruno made it five, as the visitors failed to pose any real threat.
Having eliminated Leicester, Man Utd will square up against Tottenham in the quarter-finals in December.
