Carabao Cup: West Ham knock out Defending Champions, Manchester City

West Ham United sent Defending Champions, Manchester City, of the Carabao Cup after West Ham United with a 5-3 victory on penalties in a keenly contested encounter at London Stadium.

A goalless draw at the end of regulation time, saw the fourth-round tie go into a penalty shootout, with  Said Benrahma, converting the decisive spot-kick for the Hammers.

Phil Foden, missed his kick to give the David Moyes’ side the advantage in the shootout, sending the Citizens who have won the competition for the past four seasons, out for the first time since2016.

The unprecedented result sends West Ham into the quarter-finals of the competition.
