CDQ Arrested by NDLEA for being in possession of Cannabis

The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported that its operatives on Wednesday night arrested Sodiq Yusuf, popularly known as CDQ, in his residence at Lekki. 

The rapper was said to have been arrested by the anti-drug enforcement agency for allegedly being in possession of banned substance, Cannabis, popularly known as ”loud”

The Punch reported that during an exclusive interview with NDLEA’s Director and Spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, he confirmed the arrest, saying investigations were still ongoing as a cannabis variant known as “Loud” was found in the rapper’s house. Babafemi said he has been granted bail but is expected back in custody as he is still under investigation.

In Babafemi’s words, “Yes, CDQ was arrested in his house at Lekki for being in possession of cannabis. He was arrested based on intelligence. As of last night, he was granted administrative bail, but he is expected back into custody today because it is an ongoing investigation.

Some substances were found and he mentioned some names of some other big artistes. So, it is an ongoing investigation. 

The outcome of the investigation would determine what would happen. There are cases whereby the investigation shows some sufficient infractions, and then the case will go to court. There are other cases whereby if the quantity is insignificant, we will bring him in for counseling and possible rehabilitation. Those are likely scenarios that will happen.”

An eyewitness however took to Instagram to give a non-filtered account of what transpired between rapper CDQ and the NDLEA operatives. Another attested to having a video of the incident. 

However, CDQ reacted via an Instagram post, saying  that some people were trying to set him up.

“No sleep for the wicked. Iyalaya yin o ni sun for dis Lagos… They tryna set me up today but Olohun wa.”

Commenters consoled him for his predicament, and others asked him to be careful and watch his back.
