Chelsea kick off Champions League campaign with shocking defeat

An early thirteen minutes goal from Mislav Orsic was enough to condemn Chelsea to a losing start to the 2022/2023 Champions League campaign.

Dinamo Zagreb, were perceived as underdogs heading into the game and it was expected of Chelsea to find their back into the game after falling behind in the first half.

Though, former Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who joined Chelsea on deadline day from Barcelona, had his debut goal ruled out for offside, Thomas Tuchel’s men simply played catch up to the Croatian Champions and still failed to do so.

It was a pretty disappointing result for the two times European Champions who still have Serie A champions, AC Milan and RB Salzburg to play in Group E.
