Chelsea parts ways with Graham Potter

Premier League side, Chelsea has sacked manager Graham Potter less than seven months after hiring him.

The marching order came on the heels of  Saturday’s 2-0 home defeat by Aston Villa, the Blue’s 11th loss in 32 games since Potter replaced an equally sacked Thomas Tuchel in September. 

Saturday’s defeat moved the London side from 10th to 11th on the EPL table, 12 points adrift of the top four, despite splashing over 550 million pounds on new players this season.

According to a club statement, Bruno Saltor will take over as interim head coach, as Chelsea prepares to take on Liverpool in the EPL on Tuesday and trade tackles with Real Madrid I’m the first leg of the UCL quarter-final on April 12, 2023. 

Potter’s sack takes the number of managerial changes in the EPL to 13, with Leicester City also parting ways with Brendan Rodgers earlier on Sunday.
