Comedian Heather McDonald Hospitalized After Collapsing On Stage

Comedian Heather McDonald, 51, was on stage at the Tempe Improv on Saturday night for about three minutes whilst cracking a joke, She said;

“I’m vaxxed, double vaxxed, boosted … and flu shot and shingle shot and haven’t gotten COVID and Jesus loves me most.”

After the joke, McDonald “suddenly collapsed” and hit her head on the floor. TMZ reported that everyone thought at first it was all part of the act. She was conscious, but clearly, all was not well. An EMT and a nurse happened to be in the audience, they rushed up on stage to provide first aid.

She was taken to a local hospital where tests revealed no underlying medical issues that may have caused her collapse. The statement also noted that McDonald has been tested for COVID-19 and remains negative, and had “consumed no alcohol prior to or during the show.”

It was later reported on her Facebook page that she suffered a skull fracture as a result of the fall.

In a selfie video released by the stand-up comedian,  she said;

“I’m in the emergency room … I’m so, so, so, so sorry. I  passed out on stage. I got up, I did one joke and I felt so dizzy. You can see my eye – I fell. Oh my God. I cannot believe this happened. I feel so terrible that they had to tell everyone to leave and then cancel the second show. Tempe, I will be back.”

McDonald isn’t the first performer to suffer a fall during a show – Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Tim McGraw, Kelly Rowland, and Kid Cudi have also experienced incidents of collapsing or falling during performances.
