Davido’s Bank Account Blocked After His Celebrity Friends Donated N160m into it
Nigerian singer, Davido has raised alarm on social media, revealing that his account has been restricted after his celeb friends, from Medikal among many deposited over N30 million into it in a day.
With just days to his birthday, November 21, Davido took to social media to call on his “True friends” to prove their bond of friendship.
Davido posted on his instastory, “We rise by lifting others abi? Me I don dey rise dey lifting others for the past 100 years. So I want to know who my friends are. All of my friends one one million Naira. They said we are 30BG. If you don’t send your own. You out of here. You are gone”.
To show that he was not just joking, he posted his account details alongside the post and his friends didn’t disappoint, as they went out of their way to prove that they are true friends of Davido.
Zlatan Ibile was the first to send in his proof of friendship as Davido shared the screenshot and revealed at the time, that it was only the rapper that had sent him money.
Consequently, he listed a few other celebrities who joined in making him some million naira richer. People who helped raise these millions for Davido include a member of the House of Representatives, representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Akin Alabi, businessman and socialite, Emeka Okonkwo, aka E-money, Mr Eazi, Teni the Entertainer, Chike, Adekunle Gold, Perruzi, Ikorodu Bois, amongst others.
Among this many was Medikal who credited Davido with a whopping $1000 that ended up getting his account blocked. Medikal becomes the first Ghanaian act to join the musicians sending Davido money.
Davido made sure to give updates of the amount his money had gotten to from time to time as he received numerous credit alerts which accumulated about N160m (according to the latest update he shared his morning).
From his recent update, it was noticed that his account has been placed on Post-No-Debit (PND). That is, debits have been restricted from the account and as of this moment, he can’t withdraw any money from the account.
A Post-No-Debit (PND) means that all debit transactions, including ATMs and cheques, on the accounts, have been blocked but can receive inflows. Most times, bank place an account on Post-No-Debit (PND) which is basically an instruction to not to allow any withdrawals or transfers from the bank account of account owners, essentially blocking the account from outflows. It is usually drastic a measure taken to allow for investigation and possibly to reclaim any illegal inflow into an account.
Reacting to Davido’s steady credits, media personality, Toke Makinwa said Davido has made her realize that she is yet to blow as she needs a lot of PR to reach the musician’s level.
