Defection: I have seen the difference between light and darkness-Ugo Sly

Another party stakeholder of the main opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Imo state, Ugochukwu Nwachukwu, has decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The Party’s top chieftains officially received Nwachukwu, popularly known as “Ugo Sly, ” at Owerri’s secretariat.

Stating the reason for his defection, Sly noted that he had seen the difference between light and darkness. He stressed that the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma, is doing well and has transformed the infrastructure development and needed to support him.

According to him, “If you move around Imo state, since Hope Uzodimma came in as governor, you will see the standard infrastructure projects going on and some of them completed, such a man needs our support to do more. Imo is gradually changing for the better.

“I will do my best I could to support the Party, APC, even in winning its forthcoming elections in the state; that is why we are thanking God for what we see today in Imo, and by the end of Uzodimma’s administration, Imo will look like Dubai.

“So, I am just facing reality. Yes, I saw the difference between light and darkness, the bad and the good, so what I did is what I am supposed to do.”

Meanwhile, as the rate of decamping in the PDP increases, several calls have been made demanding the resignation of the Party’s National Chairman. Earlier Rimamnde Kwewum (PDP, Taraba), a member of the House of Representatives, said with the “increasing weakness,
incoherence and daily loss of members to the ruling party”, Secondus should resign.

On his part, Prince Kassim Afegbua, who also demanded the immediate sack of the PDP Chairman, pointed that: “The Uche Secondus leadership looks helpless and dithering like a lost sheep in the desert.
