A few weeks ago, News had it that an upcoming artiste, ‘Wisekid’ was said to be making 30million Naira monthly from the cloned version of the Grammy winner, Wizkid’s ‘Made in Lagos’.
In a space of weeks, a similar event has occurred, but this time with the popular music star, Davido. The yet-to-be-identified imposter changed the spelling format of Davido’s name, likewise a change in the name of the album, but with the same content.
A Twitter user identified as @shopsydoo exposed this fraudulent act by sharing a screenshot of the cloned album as proof to back up his claim. The imposter called himself ‘DaVido’ and changed the album from its original name to “A Best Time.”
Commenters said they were getting YouTube suggestions and notifications, only to find out it was a ‘Cloned Davido’. Others are curious to know if this is the new trend taking the tow.
The Twitter user has drawn the attention of the public, Davido, and his manager to this fraudulent act and hoping that the right measures will be taken to tackle this incident.
