Ebonyi State APP collapse into PDP with over 20,000 members

The Peoples Democratic Party in Ebonyi State has welcomed no fewer than 20,000 registered members of the Action Peoples Party, APP, State Working Committee, SWC, all Local Government, and Ward executive.
The Immediate past Chairman of the APP Joshua Chinedum Elekwachi made this known in a Press Conference as he made public the collapse of the APP into the PDP to spur development in the state.

Elekwachi stated that his decision to join the fold of the PDP was “borne out of the fact that the Party is unarguably the only political party that truly resonates with the masses, not only in Ebonyi State but also across the country.”

According to him, “I am joining PDP to team up and work with the good people of Ebonyi State to retrieve the State from the hands of a very few mercantilist politicians who have personalized governance and impoverished the people of the State for years now.”

The former Chairman of the Forum of APP Chairmen in the 36 states of the country including FCT, Abuja, berated the APC-led Federal Government for being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians.
He stressed that the APC has failed Nigerians, following its inability to revamp the economy for the benefit of the people.

He said: “I am moving to the PDP together with all the members of the State Working Committee, SWC, of APP, all local government and Ward executives and over 20,000 registered members of the party in the State”.
“Therefore, today, being Tuesday, 17 November 2020, the entire APP structure in Ebonyi State is hereby collapsed into the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“In the last five years a lot has happened in Ebonyi which made the majority of Ebonyi people feel highly disenchanted, neglected, and sidelined but the time has come, as it pleases the Lord, to remember his people and give them a new song of victory”.

“To this end, it behooves on all true sons and daughters of Ebonyi to come together and work together under one umbrella to rescue and return the State to the path of genuine peace, unity, and prosperity for all.’
Meanwhile, the Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, had decided to dump the Peoples Democratic Party for the ruling All Progressives Congress even as the APC step up moves to persuade more governors from the South-East region to join her party.

Yesterday, the APC Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee led by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, had directed the party’s leaders in the South-East to reach out to more governors and National Assembly members in the region.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Yekini Nabena, said, “The defection of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State is just the beginning; more high-profiled Nigerians from across the board have indicated an interest in joining our great party.

Nigerians have now seen that the APC is a moving train and the PDP is a sinking ship. Don’t forget that the governor is a governor, who is on the ground and is not coming in alone; he is coming with people.

“More and more people are coming in because they have seen the progress being made by the APC under the leadership of the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee.”
