EPL: Chelsea held to 1-1 draw in first game of the year

Chelsea failed to get the result they had hoped for in their first game of the New Year, as a deviant Nottingham Forest came from behind to grabbed a well deserved point.

Raheem Sterling gave Graham Potter’s side the lead 16 minutes into the game, with a well placed volley.

The host took the game to Chelsea in the second half and got rewarded in the 63rd minute when Serge Aurier sent home the leveler.

The result means that Chelsea, who have now only won successive league games once under Graham Potter since he was appointed in September, are now 8th on the premier league table.

While, Forest moved above Wolverhampton Wanderers into 18th and are only behind fourth-bottom West Ham United on goal difference.
