Chelsea suffered their first defeat of the season as they were toothless against a compact Leeds United side who put three goals past them, to continue their impressive start to the season.
Edouard Mendy handed Leeds the opener in the 33rd minute when Brenden Aaronson took advantage of Mendy’s failure to properly manage a backpass.
Four minutes later, Rodrigo doubled the lead, as Chelsea trailed two goals behind into the break.
After the break, Jack Harrison increased the deficit to three goals and Chelsea’s woos got worse when defender, Kalidou Koulibaly, got sent off for a second booking, sod minutes to stoppage time.
Leeds efforts saw them defeat Chelsea for the first time in seven trials since 2002, and moved them to second on the log.
